BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (August. 29, 2012) – The legendary Bakersfield March Meet will be celebrating 55 years of quarter mile drag racing in 2013. Continuing with the successful 4 day program, Bakersfield will once again play host to some of the greatest drag racing in the world March 7-10, 2013.
“Here we go again! As always, we are proud to promote and host the world's best nostalgia drag race. The March Meet is going to be bigger and more exciting than ever! It's going to be four big days of non-stop quarter mile action” said Blake Bowser, vice president and general manager of the Kern County Racing Association, operators of Auto Club Famoso Raceway.
Over 500 race entries are expected for this 4 day festival of speed that includes fun for the whole family. The March Meet attracts drag racers and spectators from around the world and also includes a hot rod car show, swap meet and a vendors’ midway.
