For all of you fans of the early days of Northern California drag racing from the 50's & 60's, here is some long awaited news.Glenn Stephenson once again has made arrangements with the Richmond Rod & Gun Club to hold another reunion of the Cal Neva Timing Association on Saturday October 31.
The Cal Neva Timing Association was formed in the early 1950's and consisted of different clubs from the San Francisco Bay Area as well as other parts of Northern California that included the Berkeley Rod Knockers, Concord Accelerators, Elmwood Auto Club (Berkeley) Nomads (Oakland) Shamrocks (Alameda) Foothill Roadsters (Auburn) and the Shasta Roadsters of Redding just to mention a few.

They traveled to different tracks competing against one another that also included 2 different 1/2 mile tracks in both Minden and Silver Springs Nevada.Vacaville or Vaca Valley Raceway was considered by many to be their main base of operation yet they often competed at different venues such as Lodi (Kingdon) against the very competitive Valley Timing Association which resulted in some great rivalries.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Glenn Stephenson at 510-237- 4238.
He is in the process of setting up mailing lists for further updates.Details are being worked out at this time on the costs for the buffet luncheon which will be released once known
At this time, he is without a computer so a phone call will be required in order to get a rough head count. If you have any memorabilia of that time period, feel free to bring it and share with the others
Help spread the word, everyone is welcome both former and non members alike and the chance to step back in time to the golden era of drag racing.
