| 1953 Buick Special. 2 door NASCAR race car want to be. With that barn find look on the outside, which was cleared over to preserve her patina. Interior was completely gutted. Interior, engine compartment, trunk and undercarriage sprayed with rust bullet automotive (www.rustbullet.com). Interior roof, engine compartment, and trunk over coated with red bedliner material. 263 ci, straight 8 engine, and dynaflow trans, completely rebuilt. Car completely rewired, converted to 12 volt, vacuum wipers converted to electric. New fuel tank, Lines ,Holley 390 4 bbl, chrome alt, air cleaner and polished ac compressor. New updated radiator and external trans cooler. New oddessey battery, in trunk. Stock suspension in front, rear lever shocks converted to tube shocks and heavy duty coil springs installed. All brakes and lines checked out, new front wheel cylinders and rebuilt master cylinder. New 235-75-15 tires on stock wheels. The interior is modern race car themed with four racing seats, 4 point harnesses, fake rollbar with padding and window nets. Aluminum door panels and console. New tach racing gauges (Fuel pressure not hooked up). AM/FM CD player with four speakers and power antenna. Southern air AC, heat and defrost. Front power windows, rear windows fixed, all glass good except for windshield cracked. Automatic opening doors and trunk. Everything works except for speedometer (We use gps for speed). Trunk has donut spare, aluminum racing jack, beverage cooler made to look like fuel cell secured by seatbelts, and when you get bored at those car shows challenge your friends to a race on the battery operated slot car track located in the trunk. Car is completely street legal with working horn, headlights, led tail park and turn signals. This car runs and cruises like a dream, and gets lots of looks and compliments everywhere she goes. |
