There is something about the Shoebox Ford's that is just special. They have great body lines and one of the most recognized front grills out there. Whether its a lead sled custom, a cruiser, or an original they always turn heads. This classic 1950 Ford is no different and was fully frame off restored over a period of two years. The car even comes with 8 pages worth of detailed lists documenting the date, price, and whatever was being done to the car. You will feel like you were there during the process just by reading the documentation. The car is a Texas car and more specifically a Dallas car. This classic Ford was actually built at the Dallas, TX Ford plant over 60 years ago! The 2 door Sedan is coated in Ford Sheridan Blue which looks great on the car. Everyone wants to throw bright loud colors on their car but this is honestly the perfect color for this classic. It has a great shine and along with Red accents found in the grill make for a great combo. All of the exterior chrome is in place and in beautiful condition. The side trim you typically see on originals has been removed and filled to give a nice smooth appearance. Lake pipes are also in place and look great on the car. It rides on Red steel wheels and just would look right without those Wide Whites.
The original V8 was all completely gone through and rebuilt to 276 c.i. The engine is done very nicely with a chrome air cleaner, Clay Smith cam, Holley 4 Barrel 390cfm carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and all chrome acorn nuts on the valve covers. The engine has been entirely balanced and bored .125. All hoses and wires are nicely routed which give it a very clean appearance. Small attentions to detail can be found in features such as the red spark plug wires which help bring a little more of the color to the car. The car runs cool with no issues thanks to the aide of an added shroud. It has a nice smooth idle with a great sound. The 3 speed manual transmission works just as it should and the overdrive should be a must have with these "3 on the tree" cars. All of the electrical is working and backed by a fully Painless Wiring system so you know it is all properly and cleanly routed.
The interior is done back to the stock style because Ford just did it right the first time. It is very comfortable and all looks great. The dash is in the all original style condition with all gauges, knobs, and switches in place. Some of the coolest and most unique features on all classics in general are little details like hood emblems and steering wheels. Well this Ford has the original steering wheel in place with the chrome Ford button which just look great. You wont see this kind of style in that modern SUV.
This is a beautiful car that needs absolutely nothing. It won the Streetrodders magazine pick at the 2008 Shades of the Past car show in Pigeon Forge with over 1800 cars entered. It is a great driver and always gets looks when you take it out. It won't stick around long so make an offer before its too late!
