I got this truck when I was 21 or 22. I am 24 now and hoping to get it back up and on the road soon. It had a flathead four speed. I removed the flathead and 4 speed for a Ford 302 with a C4, upgraded the front drum brakes to disc brakes.
I've been interested in cars since I was about 16 but for classics it would have to be when I was 18 or 19. My girlfriend’s father, who became my father in law, had a classic pick up, 1948 and asked me to give him a hand and I was hooked more then I was before. I started helping him and he made a few comments about getting rid of my current project, 1993 Ford Ranger and get a real truck. I wanted something like his so I went looking and found one in TN. My father-in-law and his brother-in-law went to TN and picked it up for me.
I go to shows when I'm not under a street rod. I’ve been involved in building my own rod and my father-in-laws. Also worked on my mother-in-law's 1966 Mustang. I went to a Technical School but didn't take any auto class. Everything I’ve done was with the help of people around here and mostly the Internet community. I have found it difficult, around here, to find help with all my Ford questions as everyone I know here drives Fords with Chevy power trains. I went all Ford and had to go to the Internet for help.
