My name is Jon Zmieske and I’m 16 years old. I’ve been building hot rods from the ground up for about 4 years now and have been in the garage scene since I was 4 years old. I live in Rensselaer NY and build the rods in my fathers back garage. I kind of lucked out because he was a body man for 34 years and he is great with the pointers and help. The cars each get built over the winter months and then driven all summer long. Included is my latest build a 1926 Model T Pickup Truck I chopped 12 inches in the front and 10 inches in the rear. I’m doing a real traditional hot rod since that’s the only type I build. I channeled it 8 inches and slapped a 429 Caddy big block in it for a power plant. I’m going to be shooting it a blood red flat paint and the frame will be a beautiful midnight gloss black. The front end is a 4 inch dropped axle and the rear is a Chevy Nova 10 bolt. The frame is homebuilt with a 7-inch kick up in the rear. This truck should be done in about another month hopefully if all goes well. Then I have a bunch more to build since my fathers whole yard is filled with body’s ranging from 1925-1937 ha-ha. Included are some pics of the other rods we’ve done. -Jon
