This event kicked off The Auto Club NHRA Finals at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona Nov. 10-13. This is the last race of the NHRA’s yearlong 60th Anniversary celebration. After a brisk early morning, the day was very comfortable. The NHRA trucked in a huge flat screen TV that played drag racing events all day. The legendary Dave McClelland was the MC and did a masterful job. Fans had the opportunity to meet and get autographs from some of their favorite drivers including Jack Beckman and Jeff Arend, as well as participate in interactive displays and ticket giveaways.  The streets were full of Hot Rods, race cars and classic cars. Several nostalgia Top Fuel dragsters were on-hand for people to check out. About noon, 2 were moved to the middle of the intersection and fired-up. Fans held their ears as the “Cackling” put a grin on their faces.

The very popular rock band “The Answer” was performing throughout the afternoon. The La Verne Chamber of Commerce was hosting a Business Expo that included several businesses from the local area. Vendors were on-hand and the local shops and resturants were providing plenty of food and fun for the whole family. This event was well done and I hope to see it here again next year.
Thanks for the Show!
