My name is Mark Bohlen and I have a 3,000 sq. ft. hot rod shop in Chatsworth Ca. that goes by the name of Bent custom & performance. As of Aug. 28th I've been in business for 6 years, but the first four yrs I worked a night job and then went to my shop from 12pm to 6 pm every day. Finally, I went full time 2 yrs ago in Dec.
I specialize in custom one off plumbing for Harleys, hot rods, customs, & whatever else needs stainless hard lines. I've been featured in Chevy Rumble, Easyriders, V-Twin, and a couple other small print magazines and soon a feature in the all mighty Hot Rod magazine. In the last couple of years I've grown real heavy into sheet metal work. Upcoming...I will be entering my first full restoration of a 68 Chevelle Resto mod in the A.M.B.R. show at the end of Jan. 07. Enclosed are a couple pics of my tools, shop, & some projects currently gettin' the Bent touch. I thought these pictures would speak for themselves.
I've always dreamed of being a young rodder either in the magazines or at a GoodGuy’s show. However, running & starting my business has taken me from that because I've had to buy tools, please customers, find competent employees, and keep the shop open! Currently, I drive a 64 Chevy pick up as my daily driver & I'm starting to build a custom chassis for it on the weekends. I found that trying to run a hot rod shop and build my own personal hot rod are one of the most difficult things to do with only 24hrs in a day!
I hope you guys understand where I'm coming from...
The plot does thicken, though... I turned 31 last month Sep.10th. If you won't tell I won't tell and I hope I can become a young rodder with you guys.
Sincerely,
Mark Bohlen a.k.a. Bentfurd
P.S. I just had to enclose a picture of my assistant TWIG...
Last picture is a message I give to the customers that are late on payments!
