Updates:

Question: Why is Doug selling the car? Answer: He built this car with the purpose of entering it in the museum. It now has been a permanent fixture in the museum for 10 years. He would like to sell the car and move on to possibly another project. His preference for the next project would be his Corvair or Javelin (1 & 2) funny cars, which came after Chevy 2 Much.

Question:
Does he have these cars or will he replicate them? Answer: You'll like this answer! The first Corvair had a clone built by Doug Thorley with a Javelin body on it and was being run for 2 years simultaneously at strips across the country. What had happened is Doug intended to run a second Corvair but when he got the American Motors sponsorship he finished off the second Corvair chassis with a Javelin body. That car went on the road for 2 years and never returned home. Doug is contemplating an ad campaign to go in search of the lost car.  Then ultimately the car would simply be rebuilt to its original specs. [Note: The 2nd Javelin that Doug drove himself was a full-blown Hemi rear engine funny car--one of the first.] Those are some of Doug's thoughts at present.
