Jack Robert, Roving Reporter:
On October 11, 12, and 13, 2002, the Southern Knights of Central Kentucky hosted their 7th Annual Boonesborough Boogie Nationals at Boonesborough State Park about 20 miles south of Lexington, just off I-75. I attended Saturday and Sunday. this Central Kentucky Car Club boast to having donated , as of 2001, over $80,000 to the Ronald McDonald House in Lexington, KY. All the net proceeds from this show goes to that charity -- a worthwhile one, indeed, -- in my opinion. Thanks to clubs like this one, who work to help others our Sport is commended and welcomed by all. It makes me proud to be a part of Hot Rodding. Anyway back to the Boogie Nationals. On Saturday we had nice weather until about 5 or 6 pm. Then came a few showers. No problem, we just went inside and sat down to a chili supper which the club served -- and it was good!!! Then afterwards we all sat back on enjoyed the live music. On Sunday the weather was great. everyone enjoyed themselves as they made plans to attend next years event. Ronald McDonald himself was there with his hot rod. He was having a great time and so were the kids.
