Butch Pate and his new bride Kim braved the threat of rain and tornadoes to go to the NSRA Nationals in Knoxville.   Looks like it turned out to be a fantastic show.

Here is what Butch had to say about the show itself and about the cars he saw:

The local Knoxville paper declared 3388 registered car owners for the 28th Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals South, here in Tennessee.  Because of the rain, hail and a few tornados the week leading up to the show, this should have read: 3388 Hardcore Hot rodders !
I must admit, in the past, I've used every excuse possible to keep from making the trip.  I had never been to this show and managed to let every "little" thing that popped up as a good enough reason to stay home.  After driving for almost three hours, mostly through rain and passing several street rods headed back home, I just knew this was a wasted trip.  Even after we walked through the gates and made our way down past the swap meet area, all I could see was a parking lot half full of cars and I really thought I messed up.  Then as I turned to my left and tried to take in the size of the beautiful Chilhowee Park, I realized there were cars as far as the eye could see and found even more scattered in every nook and cranny, all surrounding a lake which made for an amazingly beautiful site.  I couldn't tell you how many times I caught myself telling my wife, this is INCREDIBLE.look what we've been missing ! ! !   This is one show I promise never to miss again.

What an AWESOME looking car !
