Being the "Die Hard" Rodders that we are, we go to the Portland Swap Meet at least twice a year. Have been for ten years or more.since we moved to the beautiful NorthWest from Southern California The only difference now is that we put up a booth and Jack has someplace to store his treasure until it's time to leave. This trip was no different.. It's a huge Swap Meet--4600 spaces and they were all full. It's almost always raining in Portland so the traffic inside gets really good when it rains and then slows down if the sun shows up. This weekend there was a lot of sun but we still had lots of people stopping by our booth. ...
No. This isn't the Portland
Swapmeet. It's in Pendleton, Oregon the home of the Pendleton Shirts
and Blankets until NAFTA came along and our businesses all moved south of the border ...but that's another whole story isn't it ? ANYWAY...We always stop there for gas on the way to Portland and the offramp has the coolest landscaping ! It looks like a real cattle drive and Jack always says he's going to stop so I can get a picture of him "rustling cattle". Well here it is Jacks gone West Big Time !
Check it out. The Two Most Popular
Booths at the Show ! HA Just Kidding !
As You Can See though, we did have a lot of people stopping by all the time.
We had many people stop to say they had sold their cars on HotRod HotLine
and we even had a rodder stop by to tell us he had bought his car on HRHL
and was waiting for it to be delivered. It had been taken out of
the Cars For Sale section but we found it in the SOLDS so he could show us his beauty.
Chevs of The 40's Was There. They always have a really nice booth to show off their line. The Guys tell me that the hot item this weekend was the Chevs of The 40's Laser Cut Grills., but they have a really great line of Chev Parts from '37 to '54 Cars and Trucks so be sure to check out their website if you're searching for Chev Parts and didn't make it to the Portland Swap Meet. Another Fantastic product that you would have seen in Portland is the Rust Doctor. Now Jack has tried this out personally and really like it because it isn't solvent based. It's water based and is very easy to use. Luckily, if you weren't in Portland, you can find out more about it and even buy online at www.TheRustDoctor.com
