Hi All
We travelled to Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, about 45 miles from Toronto, going eastward and passing Oshawa home of General Motors Canada.  I had heard of this new cruise nite and the turnout was pretty good according to friends.  A lovely young lady with her ratta a tat banter and music selection was keeping everybody happy.  In the picture (pg 5, 9th pic) she is giving an award for the sponsors choice to the '69 Corvette owner.  Nice car, dynamite base clear candy apple paint.  The turnout looked to be around 120-130 cars, pretty good turnout for a newish cruise.
I bumped into an acquintance of mine who invited me over after the cruise to view the progress he was making on his 16 year project.  He's doing one of the rarest of cars, a 1938 Lasalle Convertible Sedan, he tells me they only made 265 worldwide production.  I remember a trip to the redistrip tanks in the early '90's to de--rust this rare piece and watching Frank the owner get tears in his eyes once all the paint, bondo, tar, paper, etc, all was removed when we came to pick it up.  What looked to be a not bad car had patches on patches, 4 different colors of plastic filler and holes as big as silver dollars in the quarter panels, brass, brazing rod and other assorted fillers.  Somebody had patched the bottoms of each door about a foot up each one and lap welded them.  All of this was hidden under tar and other coatings.  An attempt was made to get this ready for the Nationals in Louisville but as you can see, it was a no.  Hopefully we will be seeing this one at the cruise nites in the spring.  Enjoy the cruise!!!  "Madmike" Lynch!!!
