For several years now, our Roving Reporters Butch Pate and Jack Roberts have been telling us that we HAD to do a show in Pigeon Forge and this year we decided it was time. We have so many visitors from that area and had heard rave reviews of all of the shows there so we were really looking forward to going. WELL ……. We were just astounded ….. This Grand Run was really a blast ! Most of the shows we exhibit at are large shows with the cars all corralled into whichever facility the show is being held at…. At the Grand Run it is one HUGE Cruise Night…. For three days ! Cars lined up and down both sides of the street and parked on the lawns of all the hotels with chairs lined along the curb to watch the cruising. About three hundred cars were actually in the show exhibit area but there were literally thousands on the streets.. This gave us a great chance to enjoy the fun aspect of the show after our exhibit area was closed each day. We had great fun with Jack and Minnie Roberts and with Butch and Kimberly Pate who are great friends of ours. It was really great and we have planned for next year to go to Pigeon Forge the weekend of Shades of the Past and then stay for Grand Run the following weekend. That should be really great ! |
