After seeing the coverage of the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green earlier this year, we knew that this was an event we just had to attend ! The great folks from the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum were very helpful and really great hosts…. So thanks to the folks from the NHRA Museum, Wally Parks, Greg Sharp, and Bill Groak for helping us to cover this fine event…. Of course, getting to the show is half the fun and this was no exception….. I don't care how many times we drive the same route to Southern California ….. We find new goodies along the way. I thought that we had stumbled across virtually every car in the Nevada desert ….. But not so…… we found a few more and then ran into the beginning of a really neat car show that was held in Bishop, California over the weekend and got a few pictures of some of the early arrivals.

This is an old mining town called Mina, Nevada …. Mostly deserted but there are a few die hards still there ….. There are several of these towns on the way to California ….. They are really very interesting.

We had stopped at Dennys in Bishop on Thursday night and when we came out we found a group of rodders congregating in the parking lot. They were there for a show over the weekend in Bishop. There were some nice looking cars on hand ….. Wish we could have been at both Bakersfield and Bishop this weekend but we haven't figured out how to work that "be in two places" thing yet….. We were told they expected over 300 cars for the show and Bishop is a very pretty place so I'm sure they all had a great time.
