                                   George Barris
Known to millions of car enthusiasts, collectors, and movie buffs around the world, George Barris, acknowledged “King of the Hollywood Kustomizers,” set the standard for designing cars for the film, television, and music industries.
George and his brother Sam were responsible for some of the most outrageous and cutting-edge automobiles ever created, including this original Batmobile, used in the original ‘60’s TV series.  This Batmobile is the most famous Hollywood car of all time.
As active as ever in the industry, George Barris’s career began with hot rods for classics such as “Hot Rod Girl” and James Dean’s “Rebel Without A Cause” in the ‘50’s. Barris has been responsible for an astonishing list of high-profile Hollywood vehicles, including cars for “The Monster,””Beverly Hillbillies,””The Dukes of Hazzard”, and “Mannix” TV shows. His film credits include the “Batman” movies, “Back To The Future,””Dick tracy,””Fast & Furious,” and dozens more, while Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and the The Beach Boys have all numbered among his customers. He is responsible for what many consider the greatest custom of all time - the Hirohata Merc.
After 50 years, George Barris continues on the cutting edge of car design with such projects as the Millennium 2000, Cougar Woodie 2050, Chrysler City Coupe, and Mustang Ranchero.
Congratulations George, and thank you for keeping our industry so high profile!!!
