On April 24, 2004 the Somernites Cruise Team kicked off their 2004 season with another super Cruise. In order to update the new members of HRHL who are not aware of this great Cruise. It�s held in the quaint little Historic Town of Somerset, KY, situated in south central part of KY. An extremely beautiful part of KY, with many tourist attractions nearby including a lake which has the largest shoreline of any lake in the state. Combine all this with the fact that this Cruise is organized and presented by the Somernites Cruise Team with full and complete support and cooperation of the Somerset City Council. About 10 or 12 city blocks in the historical downtown sector of the city is blocked off and used for the Cruise. There is no entry fee, no judging the only award given is for Longest Distance traveled, with activities and events for the entire family, bottom line - fun for everyone. This event takes place on the 4th Saturday of each month, beginning in April thru October, and draws cars from as many as 10 different states. If you have never attended this event you should definitely schedule it, if you have attended, well then I know I will see you there again and again. The season opener had 800+ cars in with the threat of rain all day, however, the rain did not come and the temp exceeded 80 and was a superb day and Minnie and myself as well as everyone there had a terrific time. And as usual I got overwhelmed with doing Public Relations (Minnie calls it BS, just shows what she knows) I turned the camera over to her and as usual she took way too many pics, but that�s good for you - bad for me - I gotta post them, but I like it.
