Kimberly and I were fortunate enough to get to attend the Hoodlum Alley Cruiser's "Friday Night Cruise" in Shelbyville,TN April 8th. The club has two shows a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. They host a Cruise In on the alley the Friday night before each show. Hoodlum Alley is a side street that is shared by several automotive related businesses. The car club has a club house located at the center of the block. Once the Cruise In starts, club members guard the entrance and exit to the street and maintain a one-way traffic flow. The event is well policed by club members as well. This year's flyer had NO BURN OUTS! on it several times. The point was well taken. One of the main attractions to the event is the food. You'd better get in line early! Fried baloney, barbecue chicken quarters, chili and corn bread made the wait well worth it. The large turnout had as many different styles of cars and trucks as there were colors. It's also the first real chance to get those new winter projects out and enjoy them. This is a local tradition that will hopefully be around for years to come.
