Whitianga is a town 60 miles away from Whangamata and about the same size. We put the word around each town that it was "Time for a Cruise", so the cars met at a Cafe 1/2 way between the 2 towns. The cars then headed to Whitianga for a BBQ lunch on the beach before retiring to a country pub for a few beers. Surprisingly 49 cars attended - and we know that at least another 20 didn't make it on the day. So that is about 70 cars from 2 small towns. Can this area now be called Hot Rod heaven??? Enjoy a sample of the cars that enjoyed the day.....Noddy Watts Whitianga, New Zeland (2 pages)

The Watford and District Car Club have two shows a year and this is the second. This is in conjunction with the Carters Steam Fair. The car show had a fantastic turn out due to the great weather. I heard that over 1000 cars had attended. Every marque turned up from all years to make this such a great event. Carters Steam Fair is an amazing blast from the past. Most of the rides are steam powered. If they aren't they are powered by old trucks with generators in the back. Even the kids merry go rounds have cool cars on them. All of the rides and stall are from years gone by and in my opinion it's the best fun fair ever. Something to check out if you're ever in the UK. Best wishes, Scott Croxley Green, England (2 page)

Getting prepared for the Hot Rod Reunion was a tougher task this year than planned. I knew with the show being held through Father's Day and the recent passing of my Father that it would be tough going. Once we got settled in on Friday a rush of memories came back that I had all but forgotten. Hot Rod Reunion Weekend is a magical weekend for everyone. It is truly based on memories. Most everyone attending has been to a track before, or seen some of the old drag cars, but for me it was memories of a different time. I wonder just how many people who attended this weekend remember the last time Beach Bend Park held such a large attendance? Butch Pate Bowling Green, KY (6 pages)

First it was too much rain late into the cruising year...and now it's too much heat! Seems like we're never happy, but we drive 'em anyway. We went to the Capital Cities 13th Annual Mopar Day in the Park in Sacramento on Saturday, June 24th. Depending on who you talked to, it was anywhere from 100° to 106° in the shade at Hagan Park (actually located in Rancho Cordova). In reality, the temp was probably somewhere in between. Despite the heat, nearly 400 mostly hot "Mopars" as well as a good number of "cousin cars" showed up and there were many, many awards given out for some gorgeous automobiles from radical hot rods to classic "K" cars. Here is my contribution for the 2006 NSRA show in Pueblo Colorado. WE went on a friday due to other commitments and I didn`t expect there to be as many cars that early. I ran down both of my camera batteries and I doubt that I was able to capture 10% of the neat cars that were already there and set up. We had to leave at 2:pm for a dinner engagement in Denver and we saw another 20 to 30 cars headed to the show on I-25 as we headed home. A very good show. Mike Bourg Pueblo, CO (6 pages)

I didn`t expect this show to be as large as it turned out to be. It doubled in size since last year. Lots of variety was present, from the hotrod to trucks to tuners as they call them. I tried to get a few of each and I ended up getting far more pictures than I expected. They had a motor burn -up. They had everyone put in a guess as to how long it would run with out oil. We had to leave before it quit. Another great summer show. Mike Bourg Denver, CO (4 pages)

We arrived at 6:30 and had the pleasure of seeing the fairgrounds in its’ calm, sleepy state before the show began (as you can see from the first picture with the roadsters covered up). We enjoyed the rolling show as we stood by the entry area and watched the roadsters and their proud owners drive in. For over several hours it was a never-ending line of roadsters of all shapes, colors and styles. Pomona, CA (4 pages)
