"Rain didn't hold anybody back this weekend from coming out for the McDade Texas Watermelon Festival And Car Show. I reported on the Luling Watermelon Thump a couple of weeks ago and it seems that 1 watermelon oriented get together just isn't enough. It was raining when several fellow members of the Donut Club met to cruise the 35 miles to McDade, but by the time we got there, all that was left was the humidity. There were over 130 cars there, and as usual, a lot of them were not cars you see at all the other car shows in the area. This is a well organized car show and once the parade was over, it was a well attended car show also. The Bastrop Area Cruisers were in charge of things and did a great job. I don't know about you, but I seem to have no limit to how much icy cold watermelon I can put away."
