Cruisin’ Destination Daytona Bigger and Better

By Carroll Hamilton

Cruisin’ Destination Daytona's largest car count to date was pushed over the top by Mustangs. Yea, there were a large number of rods and customs Cruisin’ Destination Daytona on the third Saturday of November and many were in town for the annual Daytona Beach Turkey Run, but the theme for the November event was Mustangs. All Mustangs were welcome and boy did they turn out. There were over 100 Mustangs parked in the North lot. Add in the 300-400 rods and customs, a great turn out of spectators and you had one heck of a party.

A great Florida afternoon and early evening made for a beautiful night of rock ‘n Roll, hot rods, customs, and good times. Live bands played on the stage in front of the Saints and Sinners Pub, while DJ, Frank Roberts spun oldies at the other end of the grounds. The food court was jumpin’ and the restaurants were doing a brisk business. As darkness fell the lights came on and the party continued late into the night..

Remember to mark the third Saturday of the month on your calendar (December 15, 2007) and stop by Destination Daytona for Cruisin’ Destination Daytona. The theme for the December cruise will be "topless". All cars that have drop tops or no tops will be featured. And as always the Destination Daytona Merchants will award trophies to three winners. The Best Topless Early (Pre-1948), The Best Topless (1949- to present), and the coveted "Merchants Pick", given to the vehicle chosen as top of the class by the Destination Daytona Merchants.

Cruisin’ Destination Daytona begins at 3 PM (winter hours) and, as always, the party lasts until it is over.
