“Rev’ed Up for Kidz” is a charity car show held at Edelbrock’s in Torrance, CA. This show benefits The Center for Learning Unlimited (CLU). At about 7:15am Hot Rods started lining up to wait their turn to be parked on the streets around the Edelbrock building. A couple of private car collections totaling about 50 cars were moved into place next to the building. Eventually all 280 Hot Rods found a place in the show. The “Goody Bag” for all registered participants included a die cast model of Vic Edelbrock Sr’s #3 roadster and a copy of “Edelbrock, made in the USA” book worth $40! Approximately 2000 spectators came to see not only the cars but also “Vic’s Garage” which was open to the public. The curator Ralph Guldahl was very helpful with essential information. The night before they had a VIP Gala and live auction MC’ed by Car and Driver Radio personality Alan Taylor. All the staff members are volunteers and are not paid, 100% of the proceeds go to the charity! This event raised $150,000. for CLU!!
Next year the show will be on Sunday, April 28, 2008 and bigger!
