We recently attended Johns 15th Picnic held at Pakenham in Victoria, Australia early in November. It was being promoted as the BIGGEST Hot Rod event of the year and it would have been too if it wasn't for the weather. Saturday was overcast but Sunday the heavens opened up and it teemed all day The rain didn't let up at all which put a real dampener on the whole event. Instead of over 2000 cars attending only about 300 brave Rodders ventured out. It was very disappointing for the organizers and for the spectators as well.
There were trade stands, live bands, flame throwers and pin striping demos along with the show n shine which had become a wet a chamois, but it all still went ahead. We still had a good weekend, despite the weather, there were still 300 cars to check out.
Take a look at the photos, everyone was wearing rain coats, umbrellas and water was laying everywhere.
