	The Million Dollar Breakfast Cruise at the Enderle Center, Tustin, CA 01-13-08 Story and Photographs by Roger Rohrdanz

The Million Dollar Breakfast Cruise was started as a weekly event by Larry and Paula Beck back in 2000. Through the years it has moved from venue to venue. Along the line Larry partnered with John Honiotes. After Larry Beck passed away, John continued the weekly gathering. Now twice a month, the first and last Sunday, Enderle Center in Tustin, CA. hosts the event.
This Sunday I went to the Enderle venue and found a casual, comfortable, and fun group of car people showing off about 80 cars of all kinds. People show of the changes they’ve made to their cars since they saw each other last. Others get caught up with what’s been going on. The official show time is 7:30am till 11:00am but cars arrive between 7:00am and 9:00am. It is free to enter and the raffle pays 100%, not the usual 50/50. Several trophies and many other prizes are won by the participants.

The Center boasts several restaurants, Zov's Bakery & Cafe, Zito's Bar & Grill and El Torito are all open for breakfast and The Coffee Grinder to choose from, after all this is a breakfast cruise, right? They make you feel they are glad to have you there. Thanks for the Show!

This was a great morning for Leonard Henry to bring his 289 Ford powered “cool” ’64 Mercury Comet from La Mirada, CA.

A 409 is under the hood of Regis & Shelley Vogel’s clean ’62 Chevy Impala from Fullerton, CA.

Lionel Guzman of Yorba Linda, CA. named his creation “Rod-zilla”. Some of the parts used are, a ’27 Ford pickup body widened 19”, a 283 Chevy motor with Mercury valve covers and a Olds air cleaner, ’34 Ford grille with Pontiac hood ornament and a F-100 Ford front end, and he’s only just begun!!

Dale Rice of Dana Point, CA. managed to squeeze 498 cu in out of his big block powered, super sharp ’71 Chevy Chevelle SS.

Because Mickey Ford drove his ’34 Ford Roadster here from Huntington Beach, CA. Does that mean he has a “Ford in a Ford”??

A “Best of Show” winner from Anaheim, CA. is this 468 Chevy powered, beautiful ’48 Chevy Sedan Delivery belonging to Jim Lennartson.

Very few cars in Southern California have the history of this unassuming ’50 Oldsmobile Rocket 88! Duke Norton bought it new from a dealership named Womac in El Centro, CA. In the service he was stationed in Salina, KS. Duke would frequently take the Olds out to a local drag strip and he occasionally won. In 1955 the fledgling National Hot Rod Association was holding their first National event in Great Bend, KS. Duke entered his ’50 Olds in the competition and won in his class! Today Duke’s original car is in its second coat of paint but it loves to get out and strut its stuff.
