The first pictures are of this awesome rare '49 Merc rodded woodie wagon that was picked the top car at the James Dean show last year, in '07 and was invited back again this year. Ray agrees that it was the best car by far that he saw at both shows this weekend. It was built over a 4 year period, by the famous drag racer, Dick LaHaie, who hand built the wild 454 engine. He and and his wife, Claudia from Eaton Rapids, MI, still own the car. Very well known Michigan contributors were Bob Fender, leather interior, Teddy Z, body work and paint, and Mike Nickels, did the blond all maple hardwood wood work.
