The 7th Annual Wings, Wheels, Rotors, and Expo was presented by The Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce and the Joint Forces Training Base. The heavy fog started to lift about 9:00am and the cars began to be wiped off. Many of the planes and helicopters that would have been in-place, on the ground, had to fly-in. That was one of the benefits of the fog. Several of the food vendors were serving breakfast, as was the Kiwanis Club. Over 160 food and commercial vendors were available with a food court dining area and a “kids corner”. Parking and spectator entrance is free. At this event you will see and be exposed to 15+ new & antique helicopters, 20+ new & antique airplanes, new & antique military vehicles to explore, Coast Guard boats, model airplanes, fire trucks, drag race cars, sports cars, motorcycles, transporters, muscle cars, hot rods, vintage cars, vintage hot rods, Avantis, T-birds, Corvettes, Cobras, Camaros and exotics. They had live entertainment all day. Helicopter and Airplane rides were available all day. The famous U.S. Army Parachute Team “The Golden Knights” performed during the day. Many city police and fire department exhibits to visit. There always seemed to be some kind of special aircraft either taking off or flying by. I have never been to a car show with so much family entertainment and so much to see and do, like a fair!  My favorites were the radio controlled Jet model aircraft, several times during the day these model jet airplanes would put on a fantastic flight demo. It was almost impossible to not watch!

The event was enjoyed by 550 cars and over 35,000 spectators. 14 very special awards went to deserving owners. This is an exceptional setting with cars and aircraft. Thanks needs to go out to the hundreds of military and non-military volunteer personnel that made this show happen. It was amazing!

Thanks for the Show!

With a name like John KaiKainahaole, he needs a hot rod that can carry a lot of “letters”. His nice ’57 Chevy Sedan Delivery from Long Beach, CA. does the job.

J.D. Smith brought his fun ’54 Ford “Longroofer” Ranch Wagon.

You don’t see many of these, Jerry & Judi Collier from Buena Park brought their unique ’30 American Austin Roadster.
