Vallejo, CA

I went to the small engine exhibition in Vallejo, held at the Veterans Memorial building. Precision machined Gas, Steam, Air, and Hot Air Engines were shown by the builders. The Hemi engine took one and a half years to build, and the owner says it was not built to sell; he wants to see it run. The engines have a box, that is a stand to hold them and it has fuel and water mounted in the box area. They start them with an electric drill. Some of the owners build engines; others build boats, tractors, farm equipment and aircraft engines to a small scale. Everything runs or moves. The sound the engines make is wonderful. You do not get tired of it. It’s like music to a gear head.
