Wow! What a weekend we had at Pinks All-Out at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. We had been anticipating this since the first of the year. 450 pre-sales race tickets were sold out in January! Rich Christensen and the Pinks crew put on a spectacular show. This was the last episode for 2008 and we're told it will be broadcast on Thanksgiving Day on the Speed Channel. Watch the Pinks Out Takes for my interview if it doesn't get cut out. They increased the "Sweet 16" final racers to 32 for this episode; 16 finalists and 16 challengers...it was great as three challengers made it into the final 16 and raced for $1,000 a round and a $10,000 final two out of three drag race. For the final races, I estimate that there were right about 20,000+ spectators in the grandstands...including those of us that didn't make it into the final group (they picked a 10.30 class). However, we did get to race with Rich doing his arm drop start...very interesting...he twitched and I was gone!
I also want to give a tip of the hat to Georgia Seipel, Infineon's Drag Strip Manager. She and her staff did a top notch job for the whole weekend of grass-roots drag racing and that's why Infineon is one of the best racing facilities in California. Hope you enjoy the photos and videos. Bob Choisser, Bad Vega Racing, Vacaville, CA.
