Hi, Pleasanton, Ca. was the site of the GoodGuys Western Nationals Aug. 22nd to 24th and it is a perfect place to have it. The fair grounds are spacious with many trees for shade. There were in addition to the show cars, a swap meet, car corral and many vendors selling their products. I met up with Bruce Morris and his wife from Australia. Bruce sends show pictures from Aus. all the time. Also tagging along with Bruce was Russell Blackshaw and his wife from Aus.. Both have traveled all over the U.S. this summer going to Street Rod events

including Bonneville Speed Week. Fine folks indeed to be sure. There was a sad note to this event one of our Rodder friends from the Danville Dukes, Bob Brandon, had had a heart problem while attending the Bent Axles show in Santa Maria a couple weeks before. We were hoping that he had recovered and would be at Pleasanton as always but it was not to be as he passed away due to complications from the operations he had had. His beautifull 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery was present however and a small memorial took place for him. We will miss him. Sam Flowers, Ventura Highwaymen
