We try to make one long road trip a year and this time we picked the “Fabulous Flashback” in Ukiah, California. A mere 800 miles from our home in Poulsbo, Washington. We traveled historic highway 101 down the coast through the California Redwoods. “Avenue of the Giants” is a must see and of course you can’t pass up the “Drive Thru Tree”
Early Iron Car Club of Ukiah put on a fantastic event! Friday night was a cruise-in at Applebee’s followed by a Saturday Show and Shine on the main street of town. With any car show, the key to success is organization, and they certainly were on top of it. The parade of winners thru the town was really fun and the Saturday evening BBQ was awesome. The weather was outstanding!!!
It was great to receive the “Longest Distance Award” and the 36 got a “Bean” to boot. Our traveling companions, Steve and Shirley Leene, received a first place award for their beautiful 51 Chevy which put the icing on the cake. We couldn’t have asked for a more trouble free and pleasant journey. Hope you enjoy the beautiful cars and scenery. Lindee Wood
