The Mooneyes X-mas Party is the only show I’ve ever seen that was a success even though it was rained out! The rain started the day before and continued through the show and into the night. By 10:00 an estimated 500+ cars were on display and almost all the vendors were open for business! Only the Drag Races had to be cancelled. When I left at noon, show cars and spectators were still arriving!

As usual, the Mooneyes X-mas Party was awesome! The people make this show, and they came out in spite of the rain. 3 live bands played all day, “Gamblers Mark”, “Dynotones”, and “Hot Rod Trio”. This was the place to see pinstripers!

It looks like there will be a makeup date, for this event, in July. Contact Mooneyes for more information.

Thanks for the Show!

Ron Wiswell from “Low Down Customs” in Apple Valley, CA. brought his “straight-eight powered” ’50 Buick Sedanette. The top has been chopped about 6”, a whole Packard rear clip has masterfully grafted in place including tail lights and rear bumper. Check out the 2 extra portholes in the hood.

This sharp ’56 Ford Fairlane from Carson, CA. sports a red bow for the season. The owner, Fabian Sanchez, runs a stock 292 Ford motor.

– The “Long Distance” award (if there was one) would go to Steve Darnell from Billings, Montana. His stitched together “Frankenstein” began life as a ’28 Dodge Bros. 4 dr Sedan. Steve’s choice of power was the (ever popular) 5.9L Cummins Diesel with a couple of turbos added. Later he took in out in the parking lot to do some Drifting!

It’s hard to see in the rain but Steve Norris’ ’51 Ford from Santa Ana, CA. is wearing Black Cherry paint. The cool chop is 6” in front and 8” in the rear and his 5.0L Lincoln powers him around.

Looking like some “Roth” creation, “Atomic Punk” is the product of owner Aaron Grote from Cerro Gordo, Illinois. Power comes from a 392 Hemi with 8 Stromberg 94’s. In a years worth of his “spare time” he built this amazing car.
