93 degrees, hot, and humid did not stop more than 300 cars, trucks, and antique tractors from descending on the village of Ragersville. The town may be small, but this show is huge.
Tunes were spun by local legend, The Spikeman. There were corn hole contests, 50/50 drawings (my ticket was one number off, go figure), tons of door prizes which included several whole pies as prizes...Mmmmm, pie.
The historical society museum was open (and air conditioned) along with the other buildings: a replica of Conrad Rager's home, an 1830 school house, wine cellar and cheese house. Speaking of the wine cellar, the Good House Restaurant co-hosts a homemade wine contest the day before and all of the entries are available to the cruisers (21 and over) for sampling. There were over 30 fine wines to try and a tray filled with Trail bologna, cheese and crackers. Along with remembering to attend this show again next, year I may consider submitting some of my own homemade vino in the contest!
The homemade ice cream was a huge hit with the hot temps. The turnout was fantastic and something for everyone. This is definitely one to put on the calendar for next year.
Enjoy the ride! Fitz
