Chevy convertible, and a 70 El Camino. In the 50s Daryl Starbird opened up Wichita's first custom car shop. Since then, Daryl has retired and moved to Oklahoma, but this area is still well known for the custom cars that are still made today, these are the shops we toured on Friday. Friday evening we had a barbeque at Jack Marinelli's house, Jack did a lot of the organizing for the Krawl for Micky and Stray Kat Kustoms, while we were there I took several pictures of the cars that we didn't see during the Krawl. Saturday September 12, was the First Annual Stray Kat Kustoms Starliner Show and shine, held at the Wichita Air Museum. Wichita is considered the Air Capital of the world because many different airplane manufacturers are here, Cessna, Ratheon (formerly Beech Aircraft), Lear Jet, and of course Boeing Company (now Spirit) and Boeing Military. The Museum building was Wichita's first Municipal airport and is located just north of the Boeing plant, and the western edge of McConnell AFB in southeast Wichita. This was a pre 65 show, with all the cars parking out on the runway with all the old planes on display for the museum. Several times during the day, the Air Force had several KC135 planes taking off and landing, and a squadron of fighter jets, which was very impressive as well as very noisy. As you can see, this was an amazing show, with a ton of really nice cars, the attendance for the first show was about a hundred and eighty cars, not bad for a first show
