The Roamin’ Relics do a great job of getting everyone parked quickly; final parking cut-off is 9 a.m., and by then the streets, side streets and parking lots were overflowing with participant’s vehicle. So, with great cars to look at, good food to enjoy, rock ‘n roll playing throughout the show and talking with other “car crazy people” the hours flew by. The show also provides a venue for free car safety inspection by the NSRA Safety Inspectors; it’s a 23 point inspection and is definitely a bonus.
This is a non-trophy car show, however selected members of the Roamin’ Relics select cars for a “Top Ten” plaque award, as designated by the placment of a “green dot” on the vehicle headlight; there are some other special awards as well, based on choice by the mayor, fire chief, etc. This year my ’63 Galaxie was selected as a Top Ten Award recipient; I felt very honored by the selection.
