A Visit to Matt's Garage

Matt Tachdjian has always been a "car guy". In the '50's his father Mike Tachdjian had what we used to call, a "junk yard" in Pasadena, CA. Pictures from those early years are framed

and in the lobby of his garage. His collection of 50-60 cars shows an interest in preserving some favorite memories from his past. It's a family affair with wife Linda and son Cole participating in the hobby.
The 10,000 square foot "Garage" is a jewel with colorful neon signs around the walls, posters and signs hanging from the ceiling and lots of gas station memorabilia. The shop is a separate area in the building where several projects are being developed.
Hot rodders started to arrive for the BBQ lunch about 10:30. The main group of cars was lead by Larry Wood in his awesome Nash. He took special interest in the "Blues Bros" statues at the Garage entrance.

This silver & white '37 Ford in the foreground, was built by Sam Foose.

Squeezed in next o the '57 Chevy convertible is a car Matt's Dad owned. After years of being stored, for his 60th birthday, Matt restored this rare, aluminum V8 block, '61 Buick Skylark

This '40 Ford Coupe was built by Bill Hinds.

Matt says his Blown Arias powered '32 Ford Roadster is "a handful to drive".

An award winning Marcel hand made "Muroc" roadster. An injected LS1 Chevy makes it go.

This '35 Auburn has lots of nice accents.

Outside on a restored flatbed was a recreation of "Dyno" Don Nicholson's '62 Chevy!

Matt says this row of cars are his "keepers", he won't sell.

A special area with memorabilia is dedicated to Richard Petty.

The awesome neon "Gilmore" sign is the centerpiece of a great collection of "Gilmore" memorabilia.

Matt with one of his oldest hot rods, a beautiful '29 Ford Pickup.
