The Albany Rods and Kustoms Car Club held their 23rd Annual "Adirondack Nationals Car Show"on Sept. 8-10, 2011 at the Fort William Henry Hotel grounds in Beautiful Downtown Lake George, NY. Over 1500 Show Cars were present at the show, that sold out in a Record 5 Days! And there was a lot of Street Rods running up and down the Boulevard and parked along the Main Drag too!
Once again, The K-MAN and his K-Lady were 'Spinning the Oldies' and there was 2 buildings set up this year as "Ladies Oasis". This year $9540 was collected from the 50/50 raffles and ARK is rounding that number out to $10,000. So, the Club will be donating $10,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation The Upstate New York area and Vermont area sustained severe Flooding due to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. It seemed the rain would never stop. But, the rain did stop one day before the show! There was sunny skies all weekend, with temps in the mid 80's on Friday and mid 70's Saturday and Sunday! Perfect weather to go along with a really great car show!
Finally got to meet Walt Smolenski and his sidekick Charlie. They forced me to have a few Beers with them. I didn't want to do it, but they made me. I also saw Glenn & JoAnn Dura a few times. They were on the lookout for a two tone coupe with a blown hemi they saw for sale in town....I never saw it anywhere! I wonder if they did? Hope you enjoy my pictures! Tom Poremba
