Although I love nostalgic drag racing and enjoy reading about the early days of drag racing, I have to say that I wasn’t around when early drag racing events were held on old air strips. If you think about it though, it was a pretty good choice. The “track” was already there, the area was already inaccessible to the public for safety reasons of course and there was ample room for competitors and spectators. The Aeros & Autos Show down here in Houston is also held at an existing air field and although I’m not old enough to get “flashbacks”, the “old days” do cross my mind every time I attend this show. Now every time only equals three since it’s the third annual event but in those three short years, it’s become one of the area’s
