Well, Labor Day weekend brought fall like weather to Northern Illinois. We went to the cruise-in at Central Park in Henry, Illinois. Just over the hill from the park is the Illinois River where the LST 325 Navy Transport Carrier was docked for the weekend. Thousands of people lined up to tour it. The ship is part of our American History. The LST's were built in Seneca, Illinois, where the shipyards became a drag strip after the war. The Cruise packed in over 150 cars or so. Lots of spectators who came to see both. Great 50’s band, good food and a pleasant night under the stars. Enjoy, we did!
