they saw the need for a larger location, eventually settling on Paso Robles, until they outgrew that location as well, finally finding a home in Santa Maria, where the West Coast Kustoms have been welcomed with open arms, as the event is a big shot in the arm to the surrounding community…
Each year the WCK induct people that have given major contributions to the hobby, be it as builders, historians or media personnel, to the WCK Hall of Fame; this year’s inductees were Dick “Peep” Jackson, a longtime builder who started with the Barris Brothers, before opening his own kustom shop, and Jerry Weesner, who was a phenomenal illustrator in his day, before realizing that his calling was in getting the message out, leading to a long and storied career in the publishing world.
