Made a last minute trip over to the "Drive-In Motor Madness Car Show" at the South County Park 4-H Fairgrounds on Route 179 in Lambertville, NJ, formerly the site of a drive-in movie theatre. This show is organized by The Flemington Speedway Historical Society (FSHS) and the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair Board . For a first time event there were some unique entries, everything from, trucks, motorcycles, military vehicles and vintage race cars, including antiques, classics, street rods, rat rods, lead sleds, and customs. In addition, engines and tractors, including hit and miss engines, steam and gas powered tractors, old power and farm equipment
Flemington Speedway Historical Society (FSHS) is to preserve, protect, and document the faces and the names, the actions and events, that form the history of Flemington Speedway. Automobiles first raced at the Flemington, New Jersey half-mile fairgrounds horsetrack in 1915, just four years after the fabled Indiana Brickyard hosted its first “500.” The ultimate goal is to obtain and maintain a permanent museum. It’s not a dream, but an obligation. Check it out at http://flemingtonspeedwayhistoricalsociety.com/
