I thought my friends might enjoy a short (crazy) story about yours truly. In 1962 I traded my beautiful 1956 Plymouth Fury in on a 59 Sport Fury with Golden Commando Engine, in those days I was really into drag racing on the Dragstrips. When I traded the 56 Fury it had already won 51 of its 58 trophy races. (Yes, Im an extremist). About three years ago I found one of my original owner cards for the car and it had the serial number on it, so I decided to see if it was still around? (40 years later!!!!!!) I went to the Penna Dept. of Transportation, Fury Club Of America, Golden Fin Society, etc. Finally I traced it down to its present owner. After talking to him by phone he agreed to let me see the fury --- But He --- Told me it was definitely Not For Sale. After meeting him and his wife we went out to dinner and I later showed them my many photos of the car and told them both stories of the Happy Days when I Owned the car. The Owner and his wife left the room for a few minutes and when they returned he said We Love The Fury, But You Love It More, We Will Sell You The Car. So my first love and I drove home followed by my second love Wendy in my Lincoln behind me. I managed to find an Oldies Station on the AM Radio and I could have sworn I Died And Went To Heaven.!!!!! The Fury will make its debut at the Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle, PA on July 12-14. Here are a Few photos of the Fury Then and Now.!!!! Click on image for larger pictures.
