Taking it out in the sun

With the new cowl fitted and doors put back on it was time to roll the coupe out for a few photo's. Where the roof joins the top of the rear quarters it was quite rusty under the 10lbs of lead so it was modified instead of coming straight down and joining it has been given a slight roll, which to me looks a lot better. These photo's were taken previous to that work.

The coupe will lowered all round so it will have a 90's stance. When the body has been sufficiently strenghened it will be placed on a spare chassis and work will continue back on the Pickup body untill it is finished.

Shifting and new Firewall

As you can see a variety of methods were tried to try and store the Coupe until it's time arrives. In this case the Workshop just wasn't high enough to place it vertical

Body Stands were made to support the body as well as making life easier for when the Chassis needed to be swapped or removed.

The Firewall has now been recessed the same as the Pickup Cab at 6 1/2", can't go wrong then can we.

All Welding on the Firewall is being done with Oxy-Acetylene, I prefer it to Mig in these cases.

After a Few years of being stored in various places and finally ending up in the back Shed of our new home on the South Coast of NSW, I felt it was now the right time to start again on the Coupe. So it was extracted and placed on the Bed of my other Project, go to next page and all will be revealed. It has now been 7 years since we first purchased the Coupe, how time flies !!.

This the Sedan where the new Cowl Came from , it was bought for $20 so it was only natural that we go back and get the Back Half also bought for $20, this Section has a real good Rear Floor which will be used as well as the Wheel Wells, the other part that will be used is the Rear Window, The one in the Coupe is Rusted out on the Inside Section and as there are differences in the Shape the Whole Window Area I have decided to use the Inner as well as the Outer.

Here is the Coupe all loaded up on the back or Bed of my other project my 41 Ford COE Just the right height for working on, don't you think. The White Boards are easily removed for access.

Rear Floor replacement

This is Scary !!! Ok so now the old Wheel Arches and rear Floor Frame have been removed in readiness for the New/Old Floor which need as few minor repairs before fitment.

The Floor in the Before repairs

Here we find the Floor Section getting a trial fit into the Coupe. Note rear Window section sitting in place, this too needs to be replaced as the Coupe one is rusted out inside.

One Side Welded in, came out quite good with no Highs or Lows , got to be happy with that.

Here is the Floor Ready to be fitted to the Coupe, the big rectangular section that has been cut out, much to my dismay, is to clear the LPG Gas Tank that is mounted between the Chassis Rails in the Pickup. As I said earlier, there were only a few minor repairs !!
