Here is the 2nd segment to the building of the Anniversary frames.

This segment deals with the recessed belled boxing plates. The boxing plated has a series of belled holes in each section of the plates. Each frame rail has three separate plates that are fitted inside each rail and then butt welded together. To recess each boxing plate in the frame rail blocks are located with a depth gauge to keep uniformity in each section of the frame rail. Mounting nuts for the body and associated parts are also welded into each frame rail as needed.

After each section of the boxing plates is fitted and welded together, the upper and lower lips are fabricated, fitted and welded to the upper and lower edge of the boxing plate. The result is a boxing plate with upper and lower lips that fit inside each frame rail. The welds are finish ground to a radius which looks as if the lips were a part of a one piece stamping.
