The moment they had been waiting for…the students at Jackson Community College got their first look at Educator One. Students inspected the car upon its delivery.

Students are unloading the parts they will need to build Educator One. Bob DiBlase, President of Street Rod Foundation, introduced the Street Rod Foundation members and prepped the students on the Educator One build.

Bob continues briefing the students on the phases of the build. The students were eager to view the suspension and frame of the chassis. Here they are lifting the body of the chassis for a closer look.

Mark Olance former Executive Vice President of the Street Rod Foundation is answering questions from the students. Upon inspection of the rear end bracing which will later house the gas tank, the students began brainstorming great ideas for finishing the look of the chassis.

The underside of the rear body as it is being lifted. Motor mount brackets were undergoing a milling process on a CNC machine. These brackets will hold the motor in place on the frame.

The students assembled the bell housing and transmission to the motor.  The students were setting the motor and transmission into the frame to locate the motor mount bracket placement. Upon doing so, they discovered the oil filter would have to be moved and relocated for an accurate fit.

The students needed to enlarge the opening in the floorboard for the transmission to fit properly. Here you can see one of the students grinding away to enlarge the opening for the transmission.

Once everything was properly aligned, the students were able to install the motor and transmission unit. The body was removed so the transmission mounts could be fabricated and welded in to place.

Once the motor and transmission were installed, the body was lowered to the chassis to check the fit. Now the Educator One is ready for the next phase of the build.

The students are working on the interior - installing the seat brackets. The seat has been installed and the student must check to make sure it fits properly.

The convertible top and front windshield have been added. The students have mocked up the hood and front grill. This completes the build for this semester.
