Here are some more photos from the top of the hill in Monticello. This time I am asking for any info on the two cars I picked up this last year. The first is a 1979 Ford Fairmont known as "Sneaky Snake" , The car was built by Bill McDonald from Dubuque, Iowa. It was raced and shown in the eastern Iowa area. At one time it won the Best Engine award at the 1985 or 1986 Street Machine Nationals. Since then the little red car has had a couple of not so gental owners, but the paint and pinstriping isn't too bad for being over 20 years old. It still gets the looks and took 2nd place in it's class at the All Ford Show this summer in Dubuque, Iowa. Next is a Vintage race car. I realy have no information on this car, but had to have it and now rebuilding it to go racing. It is a 1938 dodge coupe, Chevy 250 six cylinder, 9" ford rearend. I was told it was raced back in the sixties. Of course it had the crude, "build it with what you got", rollbar and crossmembers. Replacing with up to date roll cage and all the stronger and safer "Keep me alive" equipment needed. SO,,,, if anybody out there remembers anything about each of these cars, or ,, here I go reaching for the stars,,, Might have photos . Please contact me at: phobeb@n-connect.net ..... There is racing past for both of these cars. The stories need to be told.. Thanks
