Roger Meiners lifetime love of hot rods started in a Dade City, Fla., in 1956. “My dad brought me a stack of car magazines to read. Books like Rod & Custom, Car Craft, Hot Rod Magazine. I couldn’t put them down. Dave Brackett grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and like most kids in school in a water sports area, he drew racing boats and hydroplanes during classes. For more than 33 years, Dick DeLoach has made a career of chronicling his lifelong passion: the automobile. Though raised in Colorado, his heart was always in the California Car Culture. As the editor of his college newspaper in Denver, his love of writing and photography grew. Finally, just before his 30th birthday DeLoach and his family moved to Southern California so he could pursue his dream of becoming an automotive journalist. Take a look at Dick’s articles along with his great photography.
