1959 Chevrolet Impala

This is another car I restored, due to a need to pass along to my other little girl something to remember me by. My first car was the 1967 Dodge Charger, and when Kimberly asked me what I was going to do with the car when I could no longer drive that muscle car, I replied that she would get that car since it used to be her play pen when she was a little tyke.  The wife let the rear seats down, and the trunk divider down into the trunk, and Kimberly would play back there while the wife worked in her Laundromat. There was a treasure trove of little girl stuff under the rear seats when I took the seats out during the restoration.  Anyway, Melony spoke up, and asked, "well what am I gonna get?" So I caught myself in a quandary of pleasing both of Daddy's little girls. I started the restoration on the 1959 Chevrolet Impala in 2002, and five years later, the car was finished.
The car sports all original features such as the 348 Tri-Power engine with hydraulic lifters, with a straight gear three on the tree transmission, with a positive traction rear end. The car has a progressive linkage for the carburetors, and it will sit up and talk to you when the accelerator is punched. For entertainment of sound, it sports a RCA 45 rpm record player under the dash. The car appeared on the cover of Hubbard's Impala Parts in 2007 as James Hubbard is a friend who helped me with the restoration work and I got most of my parts from Hubbards. Needless to say, that the car runs off with the awards at car shows, as it shows it's stuff.  Appraised at close to $200K, and insured with Haggerty for that amount.  It is NOT a trailer queen.  I drive it everywhere unless it rains or has a chance of rain. I live in Gibsonville, N.C.
