I found my dream vehicle on Hotrod Hotline several years ago! A friend, John Biddle and I go through thousands of adds online on Hotrod Hotline and other places every year! We discuss the cars merits and how we would like to own them or not. We have our top ten list of wanted vehicles, and this one is NUMBER ONE! I called the owner in Arizona to see if it was for sale and unfortunately it had sold two weeks earlier! I was crushed, but the owner told me who bought it and a phone number. I called and told the new owner if he ever planned on selling the truck, please let me have first right of refusal!

I found my dream vehicle on Hotrod Hotline several years ago! A friend, John Biddle and I go through thousands of adds online on Hotrod Hotline and eBay every year!

A couple of years go by and John and I talk about the truck and he coins the name Goldie, due the color that changes in the sunlight! John said I should call the owner and make him an offer! I planned on it and never got around to it and one day out of the blue I had a call on my cell phone I missed, with an odd area code! I called the number and it was the owner of Goldie. He wanted to sell due to a possible lay off at the copper mine he worked at! We struck a deal and a month later I hook up an open car hauler to my truck and headed west, from Wharton, TX which is 50 miles SW of Houston to Apache Junction, AZ (1100 miles) I also had the flu with a 101 degree temperature and several bottle of Dayquil later, she was loaded on the trailer to come home with me!! 1100 miles coming back home, I had truckers honking, or rolling their windows down and giving me a thumbs up and people taking pictures of her with their cell phone at every gas station I stopped at!

All worked out and now Goldie is home and I use Hagos Performance in Rosenberg, TX to help me get all the kinks out! Every car I have bought, I have always found Gremlins lurking, and with all the stainless, we joke about me being able to drive and bake a turkey at the same time. With the help of Hago, Ill get all the kinks out!

Goldie has a mirror finish stainless steel firewall with raised flames. The interior firewall, console and doors are all stainless! The running boards have raised flames and are stainless and I have a new stainless bed cover! If the sun is at the right angle you can see the flames from the running boards reflected on the side of the cab like in the picture below!

I know the truck was built in Indiana, and at one time Larry Chrismann owned her and lives in Valparaiso, IN. Larry did all of the stainless work. Larrys shop burned down two years ago and he didnt remember who he bought the car from and all the papers were lost in the fire! I would love to find out more, on who built the truck some day!!

Sometimes dreams do come true!
