MB Motor
Graested Denmark
Tour and text By Owner Mikael Breiding

MB Motor is located in a little town called Graested. MB Motor does a lot of repair work. They have a dyno and a lot of electronic equipment for checking all the major problems of newer cars, electronics, fuel injections and most of all the ignition systems. It can be a hassle to repair newer cars today. Usually it is not possible for the owners themselves to repair it.

MB Motor has a very big niche in Denmark called US cars and hot rods. Mikael Breiding is the agent in Scandinavia for well known firms as “Pete and Jakes” and “Fatman”. MB Motor also imports parts from the “Cornhuskers” state, Nebraska and “Classic Instruments” Etc.

MB MOTOR sells parts to a lot of customers in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Building cars and engines has always been the fun side of the car scene in Mikael’s opinion. Mikael has a lot of experience with building cars and a lot of people are very satisfied with the job Mikael is doing. Mikael has been in the business for 18 years

Mikael’s wife, Lo also has a big place in the shop . She makes the upholstery for some of the cars that Mikael gets into the shop. She is also Mikael’s right hand with a lot of building jobs that he gets into the shop. She assists with taking care of the office, sending packets, all writing of letters and picking up the phone when Mikael is in a hurry. The accounting is taken care of by another employee.

Mikael imports parts and cars all the time in the shop. He has imported several hot rods to Denmark for his customers and himself. US cars have been a big business the last year. Mikael has also done it the other way. He has exported a model ‘32 Ford back to the USA and sold a model T ’27 Ford roadster to Australia. Today, he is best “mates”/friends with buyers on both sides of the earth.

When an imported car comes to Denmark a lot of changing is necessary. Many things must be done differently than in the US: - There must be fenders on the cars; - You can’t drive without exhaust; - Lights must be the Danish standards and so on …..

MB Motors does framework and a lot of front suspension work on hot rods too. Mikael is always ready to find new things to help his customers with.

Denmark does not have that many hot rods on the roads, but it is OK. As Mikael say “it’s fun to be a hot rodder but it is also a matter of having fun together with the cars – No matter whether you have a hot rod, a US car or another of all the antique cars.” The antique cars are a very big business in Denmark. Thanks to those people “the hot rodders” of today can get there hobby running because of some fine project cars.

There are some car meetings in Denmark but, the specific hot rod meetings are mostly in Sweden, Norway and England. Mikael and his wife have taken many trips with there two children to Sweden and Norway to hot rod meetings.

Mikael is very pleased with his wife because she is so much into hot rodding. It is not a problem with all his cars because she also likes this scene and they spend many good times together with their cars. Their children Rasmus and Annesofie are also into this – which is fantastic. It is good for the family to relax and have a good time and enjoy this hobby together.
