Step 4a (optional)

For superior sound damping and noise reduction, apply Dynamat to the outer door skin. Cut Dynamat pieces to fit outer door skin and apply with a Dynamat roller tool.

Note: The Dynamat Door kit contains coverage for 1 door with outer & inner skin OR two doors with inner skin only.

Step 5

Apply the Dynamat to the mounting surface with a Dynamat roller tool. Take the roller tool and work the Dynamat into all contours of the metal panel.   Start at one side of the material and work your way across. This will maximize contouring and promote the best adhesion and performance.

WARNING: Make sure your installation of Dynamat does not interfere with the normal operation of the door.

Step 6

Position the second 12” x 36” piece on the top of the door.   Cut off any excess with the Dynamat Switch-A-Blade razor knife or scissors.   Mark and make the cuts for the door handle and items that require access through the Dynamat.

To ensure lasting adhesion and maximum damping effect, remove air pockets formed under the Dynamat by poking them with a razor knife and removing the air with a roller tool.

Step 7

Take a roller tool and work the Dynamat into all contours of the metal panel. Start at one side of the material and work your way across. Make small X incisions in the Dynamat to allow access for door rods and mounting tabs. Cover the entire panel including the openings.

TIP: Only cut out the necessary areas. Minimizing the amount of openings will maximize the amount of noise blocked.
